Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position requiring at least one year of PACU experience and the ability to perform both recovery and pre-op care.

Details

• Hospital-based PACU setting serving a broad surgical patient population including neonates through geriatrics
• Average daily caseload of 35–40 cases across ortho, breast, urology, GYN, vascular, general, ENT, and plastics — no open hearts, transplants, or bariatrics
• RN must be able to cover both post-anesthesia recovery and pre-op for add-on cases
• Schedule is 3×12-hour or 4×10-hour shifts between the hours of 5:30am–10:00pm; may be stretched to 4 shifts per week depending on unit needs
• On-call required: 4 weeknight call shifts (10pm–7:30am) and one 24-hour weekend call shift (7am–7am, Saturday or Sunday) per 6-week schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
• Proficiency in pre-op admission, post-anesthesia recovery, same-day discharge, and IV insertion
• Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents: Driver's License, Voter Registration Card, Federal Income Tax Return, Military Form DD-2058, or W2 from U.S. government)
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Conducts pre-op assessments, manages post-anesthesia recovery, and provides same-day discharge instructions
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary surgical team to coordinate patient care throughout the perioperative process
• EKG testing required on the first day of orientation (2 attempts allowed); study guides will be provided
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
