Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years of hospital setting experience for a 13-week travel contract in an inpatient rehab unit in Richmond, VA.
Details
- Inpatient rehab unit within a Joint Commission Stroke Certified hospital in Richmond, VA
- 44-bed unit with a patient ratio of approximately 8-9:1
- Unit staffing includes 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, and 1 tech
- Performs swallowing and language procedures, including evaluations using VitalStim, AmpCare, MBSS with TIMS, and FEES
- Documents using Meditech Expanse
- Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:30am–5:00pm, with rotating weekends
- May float to the acute hospital when rehab census is low or on weekends
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hospital and inpatient rehab experience
- Active SLP license (license required if applicable)
- Experience with stroke evaluation and treatment
- Active experience within the last 6 months in the role
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include swallowing and language evaluations and treatment
- Expected to follow AIDET communication standards and immediate service recovery practices
- Preferred dress code is black scrub bottoms with a royal blue top
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
