Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU (Neuro/Stroke & Mixed Medical) position requiring at least 1 year of experience, ACLS, and an active GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital environment
• Mixed patient population including neuro/stroke, respiratory, cardiac, and general medical PCU-level patients
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30
• Continuous telemetry monitoring required; experience titrating cardiac drips is essential
• EMR: Epic (Pyxis and SBAR communication framework also in use)
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or compact) required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience with neuro/stroke, respiratory, and cardiac PCU-level care required
• Experience titrating cardiac drips required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them and may request 1 holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)
• Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
• Shift and schedule are firm — no alternate shift or scheduling requests are accepted
