Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Cardiac Telemetry unit with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
  • Patient population includes adults to geriatrics presenting with post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience is utilized in this role
  • Performs telemetry monitoring, EKG, and Doppler procedures
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and communication
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
  • 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule block
  • No call responsibilities
  • Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • 12-week contract

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
  • Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • RTO maximum is 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
  • Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)
  • Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
  • No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted
  • Candidates will undergo a clinical screening review prior to manager consideration
  • Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time to avoid a potential 2-week start date delay
