Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 12-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring active chemotherapy certification and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Oncology unit of a 426-bed, short-term acute care hospital that is part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Level II Trauma Center facility
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating to other Med/Surg units required as needed
• Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NIHSS, and Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC)
• Chemotherapy administration certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates must not have any disciplinary actions or priors on their nursing license
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration to patients in an acute care setting
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility
