Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience and hands-on proficiency with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT or fresh heart case experience.

Details

Inpatient hospital CVICU setting
Patient population includes fresh hearts, ventilated patients, chest tubes and lumbar drains, and patients with chronic and acute renal failure
Patient ratios of 1:1-2, which may vary when floating
Required procedures and monitoring include post-op open heart recovery, Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT via Prismax required
Charting via Epic EMR
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
Every other weekend and applicable holidays required

Requirements

Active NJ or Compact RN license currently in hand
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience with initial CVICU training may be considered
Experience with open heart surgical cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required
Proficiency with Impella, IABP, and CRRT (Prismax) OR experience with fresh heart cases required
SSN and DOB required for consideration
Two current professional references required
Candidates who are current or recent employees of the RWJBH health system (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible

Additional Information

Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU-holding patients, and IMC units
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
All time-off requests and schedule accommodations must be submitted and approved prior to an offer being extended
Holiday coverage required for all applicable holidays
