Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) travel position in Johnson City, TN, requiring both Med/Surg and PCU competency with night shift availability.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week)
• 36-hour weekly work commitment with rotating weekend requirements
• Floating required to Med/Surg; candidates must be comfortable with 1:7 patient ratios when floated
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Competency in both Med/Surg and PCU required
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Orientation begins on Sundays and consists of online computer-based learning (CBL) modules
• Contract RNs are expected to actively support nursing student clinical education alongside their regular patient care responsibilities
• Two supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted; a minimum 100-mile radius from the facility is required for eligibility
