Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position in Southern New Hampshire, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and level III NICU skills with neonatal resuscitation competency.

Details

• 9-bed Level III NICU with an average daily census of 3 patients
• Patient population includes preterm newborns with diagnoses such as respiratory distress, sepsis, hyperbilirubinemia, NAS, and feeder/growers
• Day/night rotation based on unit needs; shifts run 7a–7:30p or 7p–7:30a (3x12s)
• 36- or 48-hour workweeks accepted
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Potential float to the normal newborn nursery
• Specialized procedures include IV starts, lab/blood gas draws, and CPAP management
• SCN nurses attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries alongside the hospitalist, and respond to all Code Pinks (neonatal resuscitation)
• Equipment used includes Neopuff/T-piece resuscitator, Bubble CPAP, and Nihon Kohden cardiac-respiratory monitors
• Epic EMR experience required; Pyxis used for medication management

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; only AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required; Level III NICU skills strongly preferred
• Experience with neonatal resuscitation and L&D NICU response required
• Proficiency in Bubble CPAP management required
• Neonatal code responder skills required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Ventilator experience is preferred
• Orientation is 24 hours
• No scrub color restrictions — any color is acceptable
• First-time travelers may be considered with the right experience
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local pay rate
• Former employees of any facility within the SolutionHealth system are not eligible for this position, regardless of length of separation
