Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Step-Down unit in a short-term acute care hospital setting
• 1,273-bed Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Patient population includes post-surgical cardiac cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, aortic aneurysm repair, Maze procedure, TAVR, heart transplant, and LVAD implant
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Charting in Epic; Epic experience required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirement
• Block scheduling is not available
• 13-week contract with the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Step-Down or relevant RN experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Parking is available at $15/day or $70/month
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers should check with their recruiter regarding eligibility for this position
