Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist (Vascular) with dual registration in Abdomen and Vascular ultrasound and a minimum of 2 years of experience for a weekend overnight position at an acute care hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Details

  • 489-bed acute care hospital setting
  • Vascular Ultrasound unit
  • Weekend overnight schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 17:30–06:00 (3x12.5-hour shifts)
  • Daily caseload of approximately 45 studies over a 24-hour period
  • Adult patient population; pediatric and NICU experience preferred
  • Procedures include carotid studies, lower and upper extremity arterial and venous studies, renal artery duplex, arterial mapping, arterial graft studies, abdominal aorta, and general ultrasound
  • OB/GYN ultrasound capability preferred (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester, fetal anatomical survey)
  • Small parts ultrasound including thyroid, breast, and superficial masses
  • Charting in Epic; Epic experience required
  • GE ultrasound equipment experience preferred; PACS experience required
  • May float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities (Memorial East/Memorial Belleville) within clinical scope
  • No on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound technologist experience
  • Dual registration required: ARDMS (Abdomen) and either RVS or RVT (Vascular)
  • ARDMS OB/GYN and ARRT (S) certifications preferred
  • RVS or RVT preferred
  • Current BLS required
  • Must be able to work independently overnight
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Valid Missouri state license required for consideration (pending license accepted in Missouri; license in hand required if applicable)
  • Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • Fit testing required; candidates must be able to be properly fit-tested (facial hair must allow for proper seal)

Additional Information

  • Perform vascular and general ultrasound studies independently during overnight shifts
  • Scrub color: any
  • Free parking on-site
  • No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of the assignment; only 1 pre-approved RTO segment per contract
  • Every other weekend coverage is required per facility policy
  • Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months; a 3-month break is required after 18 months
  • Permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No medical marijuana cards accepted
  • Candidates who are local (within 75 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position
