Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Birmingham, AL, requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and night shift availability on a 13-week contract.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed General Medicine unit at an acute care hospital in Birmingham, AL
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units within the acute care division may be required
• Charting via Cerner EMR
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license — must be in hand at time of consideration, with no hits on record
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and NIHSS (American Red Cross not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
• Experience with Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA) required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Strong time management and interdisciplinary communication skills
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• All AHA certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of the start date
• The facility is a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital recognized for stroke care, cardiovascular services, bariatrics, and surgical care
