Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Special Procedures unit, requiring 3-5 years of IR or cardiovascular tech experience and an active NJ radiographic license.

Details

• Hospital-based Interventional Radiology Special Procedures unit
• Procedures include complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases
• Uses floor and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic modality machines, power injectors for iodinated contrast media, and Sectra/PACS imaging system
• Charting performed in Epic EMR
• Schedule is 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (Mon–Fri), with hours spanning 7:00 AM–8:00 PM on a flexed schedule
• 40 hours per week
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) with NJ radiographic licensure
• Active NJ Radiographic License required; license required if applicable
• Current ARRT (R) certification required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) with skills demonstration required
• High school diploma/GED and an Associate degree, or completion of an accredited radiographic program
• Must possess NJ radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities — CVT experience alone is not sufficient
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing side-by-side with specialty proceduralists during complex vascular and neuro-interventional cases
• Must be able to identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedures
• Responsible for setting up and maintaining sterile procedural trays and upholding infection prevention protocols
• Performs groin management post-intervention
• Collaborates within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons
• Strong closed-loop communication skills and critical thinking during complex cases are essential
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
