Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Physical Therapist with acute and ortho experience for a 13-week day shift assignment in Roswell, NM, covering both inpatient and ambulatory rehab settings.
Details
- Day shift schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 13-week contract in an acute care hospital setting
- Covers a hybrid of acute inpatient and ambulatory rehab
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
- PT functions as the sole provider in the inpatient setting
- EMR: Cerner (used for documentation); Meditech also in use
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- Occasional weekend coverage may be required based on hospital needs
- No call required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient PT experience (excluding student clinicals)
- Acute care and orthopedic experience required
- NM PT license required before start date; pending license acceptable at time of consideration if start date is within 6 weeks
- DPT preferred
- Competency in CMS skilled criteria and medical necessity guidelines
- Ability to work independently as the sole PT in the inpatient setting
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the contract start
- License required if applicable
- Fingerprinting required for all NM-based travelers
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, and therapy across inpatient and ambulatory rehab settings
- Knowledge of CMS skilled criteria and medical necessity documentation is essential
- Green scrubs required
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local travelers
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years will not be considered
