Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) unit position requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg and oncology experience, with Hematology/Oncology experience strongly preferred.
Details
- Work on a mixed-acuity PCU and Med/Surg BMT unit (14 & 15W) within a cancer hospital and research setting
- Patient population includes a wide range of hematologic malignancies and disorders, including ALL, AML, CLL, CML, Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Myeloproliferative Disorders, Aplastic Anemia, and Amyloidosis
- Unit performs Autologous, Syngeneic, and Allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T Therapy
- Required skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management, peripheral line care, feeding tube care and management, and use of Rapid Response Teams
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; candidates accepting a rotating contract may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on departmental needs
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg and oncology nursing experience required
- Hematology/Oncology (Heme Onc) experience strongly preferred
- Chemo certification is not required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
Additional Information
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility do not require a 30-day break between assignments to change representation (except Sterile Processing Techs, who still require the 30-day break)
