Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level III Trauma facility, requiring at least 2 years of experience with strong Neuro and Cardiac skills.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all 24 beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned to pediatric patients
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, based on acuity
• Charting system: Sunrise Allscripts
• Float requirement to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for Med/Surg overflow patients)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong Neuro and Cardiac skills required
• Acute care Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required

Additional Information

• Level III Trauma Center
• Unit support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy available in-house 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• Orientation is 8 hours
