Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring strong Neuro and Cardiac skills with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a Level III Trauma Center
• 24-bed unit with telemetry capability on all beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights (acuity-dependent)
• 12-hour night shifts
• EMR: Sunrise Allscripts
• Float to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for Med/Surg overflow patients)
• No IV team on unit — nurses are expected to manage IVs independently

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS preferred
• Strong Neuro and Cardiac clinical skills required
• Allscripts/Sunrise EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Support staff on unit includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Orientation is 8 hours
• Scrubs in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided
• 13-week contract with up to 3 cancellations allowed
