Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Telemetry Direct Observation Unit position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care MedSurg/Telemetry Observation unit in a Level III Trauma Center
• 10-bed unit with telemetry capability on all beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, and 1:4 for pediatric patients (acuity-dependent)
• 12-hour day shifts
• 13-week contract
• Float to all MS units and ICU (accepting MS overflow patients)
• Support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Charting via Allscripts EMR

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg acute care experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS preferred but not required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; scrubs are not provided
• 8-hour orientation included
