Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Cardiology unit position in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an Alabama or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Work setting is a 595-bed acute care hospital in Birmingham, AL, accredited by The Joint Commission
• Unit is a 30-bed Med/Surg Cardiology floor (2 West)
• Patient population includes pre- and post-heart cath, general cardiology (chest pain, hypertension), and general med/surg patients
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Standard acute care equipment in use; EMR is Cerner
• Shift is nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Travelers are first to float

Requirements

• Active AL or Compact RN license, currently in hand and free of any encumbrances or license hits
• Current BLS certification required; must be AHA-issued (American Red Cross not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required; AHA only
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Cardiology experience preferred
• Acute care skills required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to cardiology and general med/surg patients, including pre- and post-heart cath cases
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Navy scrubs required
• SSN and DOB will be required for consideration
