Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of recent specialty experience for a 13-week contract requiring Epic EMR proficiency and active Kansas and Missouri (or compact) licensure.

Details

• Interventional Radiology unit with occasional support in X-ray when the IR department is not busy
• Patient ratio of 1:2 on day shifts
• Procedures include aortography, chest tube placement, embolization, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement and removal, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, pelvic angiography, percutaneous hepatic angiography, pulmonary arteriography, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of the liver, renal angiography, selective visceral angiography, stent placement, nephrostomy, ureteral stent placement, uterine arterial embolization, vertebroplasty, central venous access/port placement, PICC line placement, and upper and lower extremity angiography
• Uses GE Innova IGS imaging equipment and PACS system
• Epic EMR experience required
• 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weeknight call required approximately 1–2 times per week, plus call coverage every 5th weekend
• Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent specialty experience in Interventional Radiology, with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no gap in employment greater than 90 days in the past year
• Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
• State LRT license required if applicable; both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or a qualifying compact license) must be active and in hand at time of consideration, as floating between states may be required
• Proficiency with interventional radiology procedures including special procedures, PACS, sterile technique, room circulator duties, and sterile field maintenance
• Experience with GE Innova IGS equipment, port access and management, PICC line care and maintenance, and central venous line care and maintenance
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above, and the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include equipment setup, access site preparation, scrubbing to maintain a sterile field, room circulation, stocking supplies, and adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Travel partners are not accepted
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Completion of online compliance modules (approximately 10–15 hours total) is required prior to the start date
