Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Cardiac Telemetry (Stepdown/Intermediate Care) travel contract, working night shifts at a Level I Trauma Center.

Details

• 28-bed cardiac telemetry stepdown/intermediate care unit focused on all cardiac needs, including post-op care
• Level I Trauma Center serving a patient population of all ages
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6
• Unit is supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, monitor techs, and virtual sitter monitoring
• Night shift: 18:30–07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required as needed to fill department needs
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry or stepdown/intermediate care experience strongly recommended given unit focus
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Implements and monitors patient care plans, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-acuity environment
