Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department travel assignment in Brownsville, TX, requiring a minimum of 5 years of high-acuity ED experience and active TNCC certification.

Details

• 22-bed Emergency Department in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• High-acuity patient population including STEMI, stroke, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health cases
• Procedures performed include IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, wound care, moderate sedation, intubation support, rapid sequence intubation, CPR, and code response
• Triage assessment and prioritization based on ESI guidelines
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
• 2 weekends per schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI (or an accepted equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Strong triage and critical thinking skills required
• Trauma and cardiac alert experience, including care of STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required
• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
