Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
• Medical Surgical unit with a team nursing model; patient ratio is 1:7 with support from PCCs and other RNs
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee or a valid Compact (NLC) license currently in hand — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel nursing assignment required
• ADN degree minimum required for this position
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center environment
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO requests will not be accepted after an offer has been made
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted; at least one completed travel assignment is required (exception considered for candidates with 3+ years of recent experience)
• Vaccination status must be provided
