Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital environment, Level I Trauma Center
• Medical/Surgical unit with a team nursing model; patient ratios are approximately 1:7 with support from PCCs and other RNs
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekends required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state license or NLC Compact license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required
• ADN or higher accepted for this position
• BLS certification required
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application, as RTO cannot be approved after an offer has been extended
• If end-of-year holidays fall during the assignment, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of 3 (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all three occur, or at least 1 of 2 if only two fall within the assignment period
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted; at least one completed travel assignment is required
• Vaccination status must be provided
