Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor for a Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 5 years of ED nursing experience and active supervisory certifications.

• Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department setting
• Day shift schedule with varied hours (five 8-hour shifts per week)
• 13-week contract
• Patient population includes emergency department cases requiring age-specific, direct patient care
• RN assumes supervisory responsibilities including daily unit flow support and staff scheduling management

Requirements

• Active VT RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
• Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience required
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to step into direct patient care assignments, including triage, when census is high or staffing gaps cannot be backfilled

Additional Information

• Supervisory duties include supporting the Team Lead with daily unit flow and managing staff scheduling issues such as call-outs
• May be required to cover direct patient care assignments including triage during high census or unfilled call-out situations
• Represents the unit at house-wide bed huddles
• Provides nursing care utilizing the Nursing Process in compliance with applicable State and Federal healthcare laws and regulations
• Responsible for delegation of work to other levels of staff
