Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Oregon, requiring at least one year of critical care, ED, cath lab, or IR experience along with active ACLS and BLS certifications.

• Interventional Radiology/Cardiology unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes those undergoing invasive interventional procedures such as angiography, embolization, and cardiac catheterization
• Day shift schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• On-call responsibilities for the Interventional Unit as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (both required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in critical care, emergency, cath lab, or IR
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• IV certification required
• Experience with infusion pumps, PCA pumps, hemodynamic monitoring systems, ECG, and physiological monitoring equipment

Additional Information

• Serves in a rotating multi-role capacity including circulator, moderate sedation monitor, scrub, and hemodynamic/procedural monitor roles
• Responsibilities include medication administration (anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, emergency drugs), sterile technique maintenance, and rapid response to procedural complications such as arrhythmia, contrast reactions, and cardiac arrest
• Participates in contrast allergy management in collaboration with Rad Tech and physicians, including pre-procedure discussions and timeout communication
• When serving in the moderate sedation role, the RN must maintain continual patient assessment and may not perform tasks that would compromise monitoring; verifies ASA classification and consults anesthesia for ASA IV or greater
• Scrub role involves preparation of sterile instruments, guidewires, catheters, and embolic materials, as well as anticipating physician needs during procedures
• Supports department operations including room turnover, supply restocking, inventory management, and equipment maintenance
• BSN and 3+ years of IR or Cath Lab experience preferred
• Specialty certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
• English-Spanish bilingual skills preferred; ability to work with a culturally diverse patient population is valued
