Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a Trauma Surgical Unit in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience including 1 year in a Med/Surg Tele specialty.

Details

Inpatient Trauma Surgical Unit (7 South) in a hospital setting
Patient population includes acute care trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patients
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
Interdisciplinary team approach involving family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
36 or 48 hours per week available
Floating required to other units and hospitals
Every other weekend required
Holiday coverage required
EMR: Meditech (experience preferred, not required)
13-week contract

Requirements

Active AL RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
No hits on license (past or current) permitted
Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) minimum
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele specialty experience (candidates with 18+ months total experience may be considered)
NURSYS verification required
Current driver's license required for consideration
Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

Nurses provide individualized care to patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, and observation
A cardiac exam will be administered after offer acceptance
No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
Timekeeping system: Centricity
Scrub color: solid navy
