Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care/SNF position requiring prior LTC experience and a ND or compact RN license.

Details

• Long term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 26 beds
• Common patient diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
• No IV therapy or titratable drips, no telemetry monitoring on this unit
• Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators
• Charting is performed in MatrixCare (Matrix)
• 12-hour night shifts, 7pm–7am
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active ND or compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior LTC experience required
• A driver's license must be provided for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• RNs serve as charge nurse, administer medications, and perform wound care
• No on-site supervisors; DON provides oversight
• Physician availability after hours is by phone only
• Interdisciplinary support includes PT as needed and a social worker designee; no rehab beds on this unit
• Pharmacy is off-site; no on-site medication dispensing system
• 2–3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• No self-scheduling; schedule is assigned
• Every other major holiday coverage required
• Scrubs must be clean and presentable; no specific color requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; those employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered
• RTO requests of 7 days or fewer may be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
