Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

Pediatric echocardiography unit within a children's hospital setting
Daily caseload of 4–10 studies per tech
Pediatric patient population with complex congenital heart disease and defects
5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
No weekend or on-call requirements
No holiday coverage required
Position requires floating between the main children's hospital and a North Charleston clinic location
Epic EMR; experience preferred
GE Vivid 95 and PACS system experience preferred

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech
ARDMS registration with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification, or CCI with RCCS certification — all credentials must be in hand at time of start
Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects
Current BLS (AHA only)
A physician reference is highly recommended
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
License required if applicable

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission and is subject to facility approval
Completion of online modules is required prior to the assignment start date
All employees and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
