Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Step-Down/Med-Surg Overflow position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and cardiovascular background.

Details

Step-down and med-surg overflow unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
Cardiovascular patient population with overflow med-surg cases
Team nursing model with patient ratios of 1:6–7
Day shift, 7:00–19:00, with 36- or 48-hour weekly schedules available (schedule details confirmed during interview)
On-call required as needed
Weekend shifts required as needed
RNs may be floated between like units and campuses within 20 miles
Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

Active RN license — TN state license or NLC Compact license required; no pending licensure accepted
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
Cardiovascular nursing experience required
Level I Trauma Center experience required
Large hospital experience required
At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
ADN degree required (BSN not required for this position)
Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of application; RTO requests will not be accepted after an offer has been made
If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, willingness to work 2 of the 3 holidays is required; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Weekend block scheduling is not accommodated; standard weekend rotation applies
