Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR or Cath Lab experience for a 13-week contract in a Diagnostic Imaging department.
Details
- Works in a hospital-based Diagnostic Imaging/Interventional Radiology department
- Procedures include vascular and non-vascular interventional cases and cardiac catheterization (excluding EP and structural components)
- Performs imaging, scrub, and hemodynamic monitor roles depending on daily assignment
- Uses fixed fluoroscopy equipment, portable ultrasound, and IVUS
- Charting and charge entry performed in Epic
- 3x8-hour day shifts, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; BS in Radiologic Science or Medical Imaging preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in IR and/or Cath Lab managing fluoroscopy and scrubbing interventional cases; 3+ years preferred with experience in the monitor role
- Current ARRT certification with RT(R) designation
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- Oregon State licensure issued by OBMI required (license required if applicable)
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Proficiency with fixed fluoroscopy equipment, portable ultrasound, and IVUS
- Familiarity with vascular anatomy, catheter selection, device sizing, and sterile technique
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Additional Information
- Rotates across three procedural roles: imaging technologist, scrub technologist, and primary hemodynamic monitor technologist
- Scrub role includes preparation of sterile instruments, guidewires, catheters, sheaths, embolic materials, and procedural trays
- Monitor role includes documenting hemodynamic data, pressures, contrast usage, implants, and procedural events using physiological monitoring systems
- Performs sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed
- Participates in contrast allergy identification and pre-procedure planning in collaboration with nursing and physicians
- Assists with supply management, room turnover, equipment checks, radiation dose tracking, and equipment service reporting
- Specialty certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale are preferred
