Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Alabama, requiring an AL or compact RN license with BLS certification and relevant acute care experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Medical Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Option for 4x12-hour shift schedule available
• Float requirement included in this role
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required on an as-needed basis
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• Level II Trauma facility

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current respirator/fit test required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound VAC required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, including wound care, IV therapy, and isolation management
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• A mandatory 30-minute meal break is required — breaks may not be skipped
