Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro night shift position at a hospital in Portland, ME, requiring Epic proficiency and neuro/neurosurgery experience.

Details

• Work on a 26-bed Neuro/Ortho/Trauma surgical unit (R6) in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neurosurgical patients with conditions such as spinal surgery, spine fractures, brain tumors, seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, and joint replacement surgery
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required on an as-needed basis, including potential float between facilities within a 25-mile radius
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active ME RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro and/or neurosurgical nursing experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate must maintain a professional appearance; any scrub color is acceptable
• Personal electronic devices including AirPods, laptops, and cell phones are prohibited on the unit
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
• Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
• Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this assignment
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should be aware this may be a factor in consideration
