Description

American Traveler is hiring a licensed Occupational Therapist with LTC or SNF experience for a 13-week rehab contract at a top-rated nursing home in Mound City, MO.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) / skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day with flexible start times between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM (must be consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab)
• 35 hours per week
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Caseload typically ranges from 7–12 patients per day for evaluating therapists, with fewer patients on days that include evaluations
• Treatment times are approximately 1 hour for Medicare B and 30–35 minutes for Medicare A and managed care
• Group therapy is available and utilized to support productivity goals
• Productivity expectations are 88–90% for evaluating therapists
• Each therapist is typically assigned a dedicated device for documentation

Requirements

• Active Missouri OT license required (compact license accepted); license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• Current, active certifications required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform screenings and evaluations for patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop individualized plans of care
• Administer rehabilitative interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical decisions and modify treatment based on patient progress
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Document all clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
• Complete comprehensive discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• May supervise OT assistants, rehab aides, and/or students
• Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and Missouri state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
