Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2-3 years of IR experience, including neuro-interventional procedure experience, for a high-acuity vascular interventional radiology setting.
Details
- 2-lab IR setting averaging 12-15 cases per day
- Procedures include peripheral vascular exams, biopsies, thrombectomies, embolizations, tunneled dialysis catheters, mediports, lumbar drains, nephrostomy tube insertions, tunneled PICCs, gallbladder/biliary drains, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty/sacroplasty, lumbar punctures, CAPD catheters, epidurals, and PEG tube insertions
- Neuro-interventional procedures include cerebral angiograms, thrombectomy, coiling, and carotid stenting
- Four 9-hour shifts per week (Monday through Friday as assigned), totaling 36 hours/week
- Shift times rotate between 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, and 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Call required one day per week (5:30 PM–7:00 AM) and every 4th weekend (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
- Additional on-call shifts may be required during the week and weekends to support coverage
- Staff may be required to stay beyond their scheduled shift if more than one procedure room remains in operation at end of day
- Epic EHR and PACS preferred
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as an IR Technologist required
- Neuro-interventional experience required
- Run-off and angiogram experience highly preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred
- ARRT certification and registration required
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS (AHA) preferred
- ARRT specialty certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology RT(R)(CV) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology RT(R)(VI) preferred
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred
- Must be able to remain within 30 minutes of the facility on call days
- Candidates must live within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- License required if applicable
- Proof of address, copy of certifications, 1 supervisory reference, SSN, and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic, specialized interventional, and neuro-interventional procedures using sterile technique
- Prepares, administers, and documents activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with applicable laws and facility policy
- Administers contrast via power injector as prescribed and assesses patients for potential contrast reactions
- Adheres to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
- Obtains and verifies patient clinical history and appropriate lab work prior to procedures
- Completes pre-, procedural, and post-procedure documentation including informed consent verification and timeouts
- Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
- High-acuity, fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, dependability, and independent contribution
