Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry experience and active BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications.

Details

• 36-bed Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio is 4:1 with cath recovery patients, with a maximum ratio of 6:1 (may occasionally reach 7:1)
• Procedures performed on the unit include chest tube insertions, bedside paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Equipment used includes remote telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Travelers float first and may be floated to Ortho/Med-Surg
• PCTs available on both day and night shifts; unit clerks available on day shift

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience required
• Knowledge of chest tubes and dysrhythmia management required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Scrubs of any color or pattern are acceptable, except camouflage
• The unit actively recognizes staff through DAISY Award, Bee Award, and a monthly STAR Award voted on by team members
• The unit follows a Telemetry Monitoring Policy and Stroke Policy
