Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of experience for a weekend night shift position in the Radiology department of an acute care hospital in Manchester, NH.

Details

• Located in the Radiology department (Level A) of an acute care hospital in Manchester, NH
• 4 ultrasound rooms with a staff of 14 sonographers across shifts
• Patient population spans pediatric to geriatric
• Caseload of approximately 8–10 exams per 8-hour shift
• Procedures include thoracentesis, paracentesis, FNAs (thyroid, parotid, lymph nodes), soft tissue and lymph node biopsies, liver and renal biopsies, drainages (abscesses, cysts, hematomas, gallbladders), thrombin injections, and OR procedures such as breast needle placements, carotids, D&Cs, and prostate biopsies
• Equipment includes Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10
• EMR: Allscripts; PACS: InteleRad
• Weekend night shifts: Friday–Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in sonography
• Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
• Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting required, with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology with ability to distinguish normal from abnormal findings
• Proficiency in sonographic physics, techniques, and basic scanning skills
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• RDMS certification required
• NH MIRT licensure required (license required if applicable)
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Performs a wide range of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures across general, vascular, OB-GYN, and OR settings
• Additional certifications such as RVT, OB-GYN, or AB are preferred and will be prioritized
• Experience in the OR and with ultrasound-guided procedures is preferred
• Night shift is staffed by one sonographer; position operates with a high degree of independence
• Opportunities for extra shifts within the department; candidates interested in breast ultrasound may have additional opportunities in that area
• No on-call requirement for travel staff; a call tree is in place for permanent full-time staff only
• Any color professional, clean-appearing scrubs or radiology-themed t-shirts are acceptable
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
