Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring high-risk OB experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

Labor & Delivery unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
High-risk (Level 3) OB patient population
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)
No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to other Cook County facilities within 50 miles
Charting system: Cerner

Requirements

Active IL RN license required — pending licensure not accepted
Minimum 2 years of L&D experience, with high-risk (Level 3) OB experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and NIHSS
AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
COVID vaccination proof required — no exceptions

Additional Information

Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
RTO is capped at 5 days for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
No RTO approved on weekends, on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
Floating may occur to units outside of the clinician's primary area of competency; a team-based model is used in those cases
Float notifications may be provided as little as 2 hours before a shift
Scrubs: any color permitted
