Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Endovascular position at a hospital in South Carolina, requiring a background in neuro interventions, cath lab, or cardiovascular OR and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Neuro Endovascular procedural specialty unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Cases include large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke interventions and cerebral aneurysm repairs performed with an endovascular-trained neurologist
• This is a newly opening department seeking experienced staff to help establish the unit
• Day shift: 08:00–16:30
• On-call required every other week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active SC or multistate compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required — American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Moderate sedation training required
• Experience in neuro interventions, cath lab, or cardiovascular OR circulator role is mandatory
• ICU experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include procedural nursing care such as sheath removal, contrast injector operation, procedural aseptic scrubbing/technique, and point-of-care testing
• Operates physiological monitoring systems and other patient equipment used within the procedure suite
• Performs pre- and post-procedure care, documentation, and patient education
• Administers moderate sedation and manages medications including blood and blood products per policy
• Participates in code management including crash cart, rapid response, and end-of-life protocols
• Upholds patient safety initiatives including universal protocol, time-outs, and proper patient identification
