Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a 24/7 Emergency and Urgent Care facility in New Mexico, requiring a minimum of 2 years of large ED experience and prior travel assignment completion.
Details
- Works in a 24/7 Emergency and Urgent Care department
- 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- 13-week contract
- Fast-paced, large emergency department environment
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred but on-site training is available
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a large ED required
- Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
- ADN or ASN degree required
- Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- English fluency required (speak, read, write)
Additional Information
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient care needs
- Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
- Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
- Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
- All candidates must pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test before starting the assignment; one retest is permitted upon failure, and a second failure will result in contract termination
- The BCA test is administered on the first day of orientation
- Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
