Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a minimum of one year of experience and AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications.

• Work setting is a hospital Med/Surg unit on the 3rd/4th floor
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• MS/SD (Mid-Shift/Self-Directed) scheduling required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• Previous travelers or employees must have a 6-month separation period after 26 cumulative weeks worked at this facility before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced and must be completed by the designated due dates
