Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 30-bed unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and telemetry proficiency on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Located on the 7C Med/Surg Telemetry unit, a 30-bed inpatient floor
• Patient population includes observation and inpatient cases with common diagnoses such as chest pain, stroke, CHF, CKD, COPD, failure to thrive, alcohol withdrawal (CIWA <9), sickle cell crisis, cellulitis, and sepsis
• Patient ratio is 6:1
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, feeding pumps, Vocera communication devices, Rovers (Epic-capable mobile devices), Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips telemetry monitoring; occasional chest tubes and PCA pumps
• EMR is Epic; Epic or similar EMR experience is required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other Saturday and Sunday required (24 hours total per weekend); holidays take priority over the weekend rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required in-turn per float log to same level of care units

Requirements

• Active IN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Telemetry experience is required
• Alaris IV pump experience required
• Epic or comparable EMR charting experience required
• US Social Security Number (SSN) required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• EKG competency testing is required as part of the candidate evaluation process (2 attempts allowed; if unsuccessful, reapplication is permitted after 30 days)

Additional Information

• CAPD (peritoneal dialysis) experience is preferred
• Candidates must follow the assigned holiday rotation schedule; Group A holidays include July 4th, Thanksgiving, and New Year's
• Scrub color: dark navy blue; facial piercings must be removed or covered, hoodies and artificial nails in clinical areas are not permitted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply at a reduced bill rate
