Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU travel position requiring Cerner EMR proficiency, ACLS/BLS certifications, and a minimum of 18 months of ICU experience.
Details
- 18-bed open critical care unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes respiratory failure, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and surgical cases — no ECMO, transplant, or neuro/trauma surgery cases
- Standard staffing ratio is 1:2, with 1:1 assignments for high-acuity patients
- IABP and CVVHD are performed on the unit
- Cerner EMR charting required
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Floating required to Progressive Care and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
- 16-week contract
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of ICU experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, arterial line management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac drips, and care and management of ventilated patients
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university required
- Local candidates are not accepted for this ICU position
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Effective 11/30/2024, IU Health does not allow IN-licensed RNs to work at their facilities — this ICU position is not exempt from this rule
