Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU travel position requiring Cerner EMR experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and a minimum of 18 months of ICU experience.
Details
- 18-bed open critical care unit (ICU)
- Patient population includes respiratory failure, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and surgical cases
- Standard staffing ratio of 1:2, adjusting to 1:1 for high-acuity patients
- IABP and CVVHD are performed on the unit
- No ECMO, transplant, or neuro/trauma surgery cases
- CV/open heart surgery patients are managed by facility staff for the first 36 hours
- Floating required to Progressive Care and potentially to an affiliate hospital
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
- Cerner EMR charting required
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA and RQI accepted)
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of ICU experience required
- Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with arterial line management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with ventilated patient care and ventilator management
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Local candidates are not accepted for this ICU position
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana-licensed RNs are not eligible for this position (ICU is not exempt from the IU Health IN RN restriction)
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
