Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma and Pediatric Trauma Center, with proficiency in circulating pediatric, ENT, and plastic surgery cases required.

Details

• Work setting is a 629-bed short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Teaching hospital environment
• Operating Room unit with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (6:45 AM–5:15 PM)
• On-call is required and may occur on weeknights or weekends to meet department needs
• Weekend requirements are limited to on-call only
• Floating may be required to an outpatient surgical center and between sister facilities within the state
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Cases include a broad range of surgical specialties including pediatric general, ENT, plastics, orthopedic, urology, gynecology, neurology, thoracic, general surgery, robotics, and trauma

Requirements

• Valid WA or Compact RN license required
• BLS required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• Proficiency in circulating pediatric, ENT, and plastic surgery cases required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color: any color for RNs
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are accepted at a different rate
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront — post-submittal RTO requests may not be approved
• Preferred skills include pediatric OR, trauma, thoracic procedures (lobe resection, thoracotomy, VATS), advanced neuro (craniotomy, VP shunt, spinal fusions), plastics (free flap/microvascular), Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, and pediatric subspecialty cases
• Equipment experience relevant to the role includes cell saver and electrosurgical units
• Key professional competencies include laser safety, radiation safety, malignant hyperthermia emergency management, infection control, universal protocol, and specimen handling
