Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) position requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of nursing experience, working nights at a hospital in Illinois.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab
• Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, MI, dysrhythmia, CHF, stroke, cancer, cellulitis, and post-surgical cases
• Responsibilities include IV venipuncture, blood administration, medication administration, pre- and post-operative care, and lab monitoring
• Documents all patient care using Epic EMR
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (or higher) required
• English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Floats to various inpatient units and provides nursing care to diverse patient populations across the hospital
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care
• Responsible for completing patient assessments, developing and modifying care plans, and documenting all care in the EMR
• Delegates tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and follows up to ensure completion
• Educates patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
• Participates in team huddles and bedside shift reports, including updating patient communication boards
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have been on assignment with this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as accepted; at least 1 year of relevant experience is required
