Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in New Jersey, requiring an active NJ RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Experience with Epic EMR is relevant to this role
• Surgical patient population, including perioperative and pre-admission testing (PAT) care
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license (non-compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN preferred)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments across the surgical continuum of care, from pre-admission testing through postoperative evaluation
• Provides patient and family education related to surgical procedures, anesthesia, and post-op instructions
• Evaluates PAT orders for appropriateness based on proposed surgery, patient age, and health status
• Documents nursing process components and patient progress using Epic
• Follows National Patient Safety Goals including universal protocol and dual patient identification
• Two professional references are required for consideration
