Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel experience and PCU experience strongly preferred.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with potential float to PCU as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6–1:7
• Day shift available as 3x12s or 4x12s (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope to like units or PCU may be required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking on-site
• Royal Blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• PCU experience strongly preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• PCU experience is strongly preferred as travelers may be asked to float to the PCU unit to support facility needs
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, but local candidates will be considered
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Pre-start orientation modules must be completed before the assignment begins
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
