Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a Medical ICU (MICU) at an academic cancer hospital and research center
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with complex oncologic, pulmonary, cardiovascular, and critical care diagnoses including oncologic emergencies, COPD, ARDS, GI bleed, sepsis, pulmonary hypertension, and autoimmune disorders
• Common treatments include mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, central venous catheters, chemotherapy administration, plasmapheresis, and management of complex medication regimens
• Many patients have underlying pulmonary and GI conditions requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy support
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Candidates accepting a day/night rotating contract may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on departmental staffing needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Charting via Epic (required)

Requirements

• Active Ohio (OH) RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation and IV starts required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system do not require a 30-day break between assignments to change representation
