Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position within a resource float pool, requiring active SC or compact licensure and a minimum of one year of experience.

Details

• Position is part of a Resource Float Pool, primarily based at one campus with the possibility of floating to the main campus as needed — schedule location is communicated in advance
• Additional float coverage possible across multiple campuses within the health system
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 48-hour shift weeks are also an option
• Weekend shifts required on an as-needed basis
• On-call is required; holiday coverage obligations apply
• Two on-call shifts or two additional shifts per 6-week period are required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license in SC or via compact state — pending SC license considered as long as it is obtained prior to start
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• A Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Medication Test are administered on the first day of orientation; candidates have one opportunity to pass
• Fit testing is conducted onsite and shaving may be required to achieve a proper mask fit; failure to pass fit testing may impact assignment eligibility
• An attendance policy is in place — missing more than two shifts during a 13-week contract without a reasonable explanation may result in contract review or cancellation
