Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a CO or compact RN license and a minimum of 7 years of experience.

Details

• Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for women through labor, delivery, postpartum, and provides direct newborn care
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• May be required to rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs
• On-call required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and ACLS required within one year of employment
• Minimum of 7 years of RN experience required
• Obstetrics nursing experience required
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and perform heavy lifting
• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring labor progress, preparing for C-sections and inductions, administering IV medications, and documenting nursing care
• Provides care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care and patient education
• Prepares the delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates patient transfers
• Adheres to principles of sterile technique, infection control, and OB department policies
• Reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager
• Role involves exposure to blood and body fluids and potential exposure to infectious diseases
